About us

Researching and providing evidence-based wellbeing solutions for the current and future National Health and Social Care Workforce

Formed in 2017, the Centre for Workforce Wellbeing (C4WW) is a collaboration between Health Education England Wessex and the University of Southampton. C4WW is committed to working with national and international partners to generate evidence and interventions that will improve the working lives of NHS staff.

Mission Statement

The Centre will deliver programmes of work that:

  • Focus on interventions for workforce wellbeing, rather than adding to literature which describes the problems
  • Use a multi-professional approach
  • Build collaborations with national and international bodies with complementary interests
  • Establish the centre as a world leader in the field of healthcare workforce wellbeing
  • Identify and support applications for future funding
